Glacier Trekking in Alaska
It may be summer time here in Orlando, but in Alaska, now is the perfect time to go Glacier Trekking!
Alaska is synonymous with Glaciers. Cruise ships build entire itineraries around seeing these massive ice sheets break apart into the ocean. But you don’t have to be traveling by sea to marvel at one of these massive sheets of ice. In fact, inland Alaska offers adventurers the opportunity get up close and personal and go glacier exploring by foot.
Enter Mica Guides.
Mica Guides is a tour operator that offers Glacier Treks and Ice Climbing Adventures on the Matanuska Glacier. Located just a few hours from Anchorage, the Matanuska Glacier is a fantastic stopping point along your road trip.
Trekkers will be outfitted with hiking boots (if you need them), crampons (sharp attachments for your boots to grip into the ice) and a bag to keep them in. After a short drive to the park entrance, your guide will escort you on the glacier.
