This website of mine started out as a hobby in June when it was launched. Now 4 months later it’s become a full-time job it seems – and I’m okay with that. In fact, I’m energized by it.
If Brian and I are to win the Ultimate Thailand Explorers Competition we need to work hard. And we’ve been working hard. Since we applied we have created and added content to all these social media sites:
youtube.com/user/benandbrianthai
facebook.com/benandbrianthailand
facebook.com/pages/Ultimate-Thailand-Explorers-Ben-Brian/128431649795?ref=ts

How do we manage it all you might be wondering? I’d like to know the answer to that myself. But here’s the skinny.
- Each week Brian and I talk about what we’d like to talk about. Redundant, I know.
- If we need to go somewhere to do it, we do it. Otherwise we move to step 3
- Ben writes the content for the website. It takes about an hour for each post. They need to be categorized, written for Search Engine Optimization and most importantly, be interesting to read. He typically works 3-5 days out. That means that posts for Thursday, Friday and Monday are already written, locked and loaded and ready to be published! Why 5 days out? Due to our schedules, it’s not always easy to write the night before. If something should happen, we won’t have content for the following day.
- Once the content is posted, it’s time to promote. Both Brian and I share that responsibility depending on our schedules. Each post needs to be shared on 5 Facebook Pages (our personal pages, our team page, our team fan page and the official Ultimate Thailand Explorers Fan Page). We have to make announcements on twitter too. Depending on feedback, we may need to follow up.
- After it’s been promoted we evaluate it’s effectiveness by monitoring our average daily vote tallies.
- What else can we do? It’s not enough to stay complacent. Since the semi-finalist announcement in October, we spend a portion of each day exploring new avenues to promote our adventure. You saw some of those strategies in Monday and Tuesdays Posts. Other tactics we won’t share until the conclusion (some things are proprietary ya know!)
- Repeat Daily. It won’t end until November 12th. And even then it may still continue. Only time will tell.
As you can see that’s a lot of work to go to Thailand. But throughout it all, no matter what the result will be, your support has been a huge motivator. Without your daily votes we wouldn’t have made it this far. Many of you we know, and even more of you we don’t. So to all of you out there, thank you for supporting Ben and Brian to Pattaya, Thailand. You keep us working. And as you’ll see, we’ll continue the hard work in Pattaya – but only if you vote daily and encourage your friends and family to vote for us too.
There are only 8 days left!!! Please vote for Ben and Brian to Pattaya, Thailand here. Don’t forget our friends Connor and Mike for Phuket and Greg and Phil for Chiang Mai.
