Help Name My Fish

Hey Adventurers,

While traveling (and writing about traveling), takes up a lot of my spare time, I also enjoy tending to my aquarium. It’s a fun hobby that keeps me occupied in between trips. I’ve had a clownfish named Nemo for several years now and recently purchased a royal gramma (see the photos above and below).

He’s been adjusting to the tank just fine, but I need your help. What should I name him? I’ll be accepting comments and suggestions indefinitely until I find a suitable name.

What suggestions do you have?

Day 2 highlights from Pattaya, Thailand included riding on jet skis off the island off Koh Larn. Jet skiing is great fun if you’ve never done it. I was especially proud of the video I made filming it. Notice how our day ended at 12:30 A.M. The life of a travel blogger can be quite grueling, but worth the effort.

It seems as though I’m constantly playing catch-up with my posts. Five posts a week just isn’t enough to stay current. Needless to say, I haven’t forgotten about all my adventures in South Africa, Zambia and New Hampshire. They’ve all got dates slotted on my publishing calendar, waiting for when I have some time to write and edit.

With all that being said, today’s post is from Vancouver. Two weeks ago I literally spent 25 hours in the city. I was attending a conference at the new Vancouver Convention Center. After touching down in the city, I took a walk along the Vancouver Seawall. Here’s what you can see along the way…

You’ve probably never heard of Pattaya Thailand. At least in the context of what this city in Thailand has to offer. Brian and I hope that you know that we are applicants in the Ultimate Thailand Explorer Contest to Pattaya Thailand. Over the next few weeks we’d like to get you acquainted with this resort community on the East Coast of the Gulf of Thailand. Jazzin’ at the Shedd Aquarium

So began my adventure at Jazzin’ at the Shedd at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. Aquariums are great, I have one in my home. Whenever I’m traveling and the city has an aquarium, I try my hardest to stop by and visit it. I can’t pinpoint when this fascination began. It might have been the summer I worked at the New England Aquarium in Boston, or the snorkeling trips I took on family vacations in the Caribbean. Whatever the reason, aquariums are cool. How could they be any better? Add a little Jazz music.

Adventures at SeaWorld Orlando

That’s Manta, the newest coaster at SeaWorld Orlando. It also happened to be our first stop Saturday night on an adventure at the aquatic-themed theme park here in Central Florida. Unlike most traditional coasters where riders are in a seated position, Manta rotates riders so that they are lying face down, as if they were flying – or gliding – through the water like a Manta Ray. It was terrifyingly awesome. Through the inversions, twists and descents, there was nothing beneath me to catch me should I fall. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience here in Orlando. Check it out!

Aquatica by SeaWorld: Review

aquatica 300x225 Aquatica by SeaWorld: Review Water, dolphins, sun and inner tubes was how I spent Sunday afternoon. Thanks to our neighborhood friends, Brian and I were invited to experience Aquatica by SeaWorld for the first time. It was a terrific day - though future water worshippers should be plan their day carefully to make the most of their visit. Here’s some highlights from the park.

Above everything else, you must arrive early. Ticket Holders are allowed to enter the park at 830 while those who must purchase tickets at the gate must wait until 900. Do the smart thing and buy in advance. You’ll be glad that you did!
