Hey Adventurers,
I have some very exciting news for you local readers (for everyone else outside of Orlando, you may enjoy reading my adventure eating the Mega Mac, the Big Mac’s bigger sibling).
The City of Orlando is having a Flash Mob to celebrate tourism in 2 weeks!!!
What’s a Flash Mob?
Not sure what a flash mob is, I’ll explain; They are seemingly unplanned acts of fun by tons of people. Here’s one of my favorites from Belgium. As you can imagine, the organizers have been tight-lipped about the details of their flash mob dance, but here’s the latest information that I have. As new details emerge, I’ll keep you posted on my twitter and facebook fan page.

Yesterday’s post offered 9 Tips to Watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. But the perhaps the ultimate question for anyone wanting to watch this holiday tradition live and in-person is, “where’s the best place to watch the Macy’s parade?”
Avoid Macy’s Department Store
Directly in front of Macy’s Department Store (Herald Square) is where NBC Broadcasts the parade. Many seats are reserved for dignitaries and other ticket holders. It’s best to avoid this area and choose a spot along 7th Avenue. Be aware that the blocks before and after this area are delineated as Quiet Zones for filming purposes. Marching Bands and musicians won’t perform in this area in order to avoid noise intrusion on the live broadcast. Unless you know someone, you won’t get close here.

Like many Americans, a part of my Thanksgiving Holiday Tradition is watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Year after year after year while I was growing up I saw the latest in Broadway Musicals, Balloons and Musicians. Watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York has been on My Adventure List for a long time. And in a recent Thanksgiving celebration, I had a chance to make that dream come true.
Based on my experience, here are 9 tips to make your parade experience successful. (Part 1 of 2)

From the Ultimate Thailand Explorers Pattaya Blog [originally published 21 December 2009].
Flying in a hot air balloon has been on my adventure list for a long time. While in Pattaya, Thailand as part of the Ultimate Thailand Explorers Competition, I had the opportunity to fly in one for the first time. It was a dream come true and it was spectacular. Opportunities exist all over the world. And though they are often pricey, they are worth it – at least once.
Have a great weekend.

October is GLBT History Month. “But wasn’t June Gay Pride Month” you may be asking? Yes, the GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) Community claims two months of the year. One is to reflect on it’s heritage (October) and one is just to celebrate and have fun (June), at least that’s how I see it. The GLBT’s like to party.

It seems as though I’m constantly playing catch-up with my posts. Five posts a week just isn’t enough to stay current. Needless to say, I haven’t forgotten about all my adventures in South Africa, Zambia and New Hampshire. They’ve all got dates slotted on my publishing calendar, waiting for when I have some time to write and edit.
With all that being said, today’s post is from Vancouver. Two weeks ago I literally spent 25 hours in the city. I was attending a conference at the new Vancouver Convention Center. After touching down in the city, I took a walk along the Vancouver Seawall. Here’s what you can see along the way…

It’s tough to imagine that it’s been one full year of blogging about travel. Time flies when you’re having fun. And what a fun year it was. It all began with The Stories of my Shoes; a metaphor for capturing and recanting stories. Now, 252 posts later, the stories keep on growing.
My Favorite Adventures

Since June of 2009, the travel destination roster included: Chicago, IL, St. Louis, MO, Eugene, OR, Park City, UT, Omaha, NE, Johannesburg, South Africa (twice), Pattaya, Thailand, New Orleans, LA, Canada (St. John’s, Halifax, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto), Livingstone, Zambia and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Of course there were excursions all throughout Orlando, FL. So what were some of my favorite moments?

It’s Finally Here!!!
The 2010 FIFA World Cup is in full swing. There’s still plenty of time to celebrate both abroad and at home. Here’s your guide to having the most lekker World Cup Celebration.
- First, read about The Importance of the 2010 FIFA World Cup to South Africa. For the country of South Africa, the World Cup is more than just a bunch of soccer matches, but holds the potential to skyrocket South Africa’s reputation throughout the world and provide prosperity for the developing nation. This is the reason why the whole world needs to rally behind this wonderful country.

7 Days!!!
One week today the 2010 FIFA World Cup will commence in South Africa. It’s the most watched sporting event on the planet after the Olympics.
It was a bit of shame that I couldn’t stay in South Africa for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. I wanted to, I really did. Working on this project for 2 years really made me a fan of the event (having never been much of a soccer fan before). But it just wasn’t possible to extend my trip. The airfare was too expensive and the logistics and costs of getting to the matches was too costly. But as luck would have it, I had the chance to do the next best thing – see the 2010 FIFA World Cup Trophy on tour.

This is one of my favorite times of year in Florida – Spring. Our cold snap is over, but it’s not ridiculously hot yet. It’s the perfect weather to go to the beach. And if a trip to Cocoa Beach is in the works, you may want to stop at the Art of Sand Festival and Exhibition at the Radisson Resort at the Port (where the Beach Line meets highway A1A).
Last week I gave a preview of the festival on this site. On Sunday I made a trip to Cape Canaveral to see the festival for myself. Organized by the Brevard Cultural Alliance, the festival invited nine world-class sculptors to transform a pile of sand…
