Titanic The Experience: A Review of the Orlando Attraction

Titanic The Experience: A Review of the Orlando Attraction

Don’t mistake it’s placement on International Drive as yet another tourist trap attraction. Titanic the Experience* just may surprise you. That’s the discovery I had this past weekend as I explored this fascinating exhibit nestled between a Chinese buffet and Indian Restaurant.

Your experience begins with a tour from a “passenger” aboard the Titanic. At first I was a bit skeptical at this approach. I mean, I want to explore the artifacts at my own pace. But after five minutes, I was convinced that this was the best way to explore the Titanic.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding with East Coast Paddle

I have to admit, I was a bit jealous. My buddies Rori from RoriTravels and Mike and Catrell from Cooney World Adventures had both experienced Stand Up Paddle Boarding with East Coast Paddle and both reviews of their trip were awesome. They spotted manatees, dolphins and more on this eco-tour through the estuaries of the Canaveral National Seashore.

So last weekend (perhaps the last nice weekend before the cooler weather advances into Florida), Brian and I had the chance to travel to New Smyrna Beach, FL and try Stand Up Paddle Boarding with East Coast Paddle*.

Finding #Strength at Gatorland Orlando: An #ExpediaFindYours Photo Essay

Finding #Strength at Gatorland Orlando: An #ExpediaFindYours Photo Essay

If you’re from Orlando, you know Gatorland. For over 60 years this roadside attraction has entertained millions of visitors with over 1,400 gators and 300 crocodiles. It’s one of the few “Old Florida” attractions remaining since the theme parks moved into town forty years ago.

I’ve been meaning to visit this historic place since I’ve moved to Orlando. And on my month-long search for travel #Strength with the #ExpediaFindYours Twitter Photo Competition (details on how you can win a $250 coupon from Expedia are at the bottom of this post), this was the perfect opportunity.

Eating Food With No Utensils at Medieval Times Orlando’s Newest Show

Eating Food With No Utensils at Medieval Times Orlandos Newest Show

When we were little, it was cool to eat with our hands. Our parents would lovingly take photos of mushed peas smeared all over our faces and carrots on our fingertips. Then at some point, such behavior is deemed socially unacceptable. Not for this guy… doing something child-like is one of my 9 1/2 ways to ignite adventure in your life. And last week at Medieval Times Orlando, I was actually encouraged to eat with my hands!* I also found it fitting that one of my readers, Ali, suggested Medieval Times as a way to celebrate turning 30. So let’s get going…

What Makes a Great Zip Line Tour?

What Makes a Great Zip Line Tour?

When you think of adventure travel, Zip Lining is one of the most traditional of sports that comes to mind. And while exotic locales like Costa Rica and Thailand are often the first destination adventure travelers consider, you may be surprised to learn that Zip Orlando* in Kissimmee (of all places) rocks. Adrenaline-fueled zip line tours don’t need to be located in far-flung destinations. They could be right in your backyard. Let’s take a closer look at what makes a great zip line tour…

Friday night I had the opportunity to attend the Festival of Chocolate at the University of Central Florida, thanks to my blogging buddy Brian from Central Florida Top 5. Of course I indulged in chocolate from around the world, paired with some wine and even had a chocolate facial. But the highlight of the evening was the Cocoa Couture Fashion Show on the Festival of Chocolate Yumway!

I’ve never attended a fashion show, nor would I consider fashion a focus of mine (remember, it’s one of the ways I save money to travel), so attending a fashion show isn’t high on my list. But let me tell you this… The Festival of Chocolate Fashion Show was hot.

10 Tips for Drinking Around the World at Epcot: An Almost Complete Guide

10 Tips for Drinking Around the World at Epcot: An Almost Complete Guide

Let me admit first, there is a bit of hypocrisy in today’s post. You see, I’ll be offering you tips on how to successfully drink around the world at Epcot, but I wasn’t actually able to complete it myself. Nonetheless, I did learn a few lessons that will hopefully ensure you’re successful in crossing off this bucket-list item.

But before I go any further, please be responsible whenever you drink.

Highlights from International Pillow Fight Day Orlando 2012

This past Saturday, International Pillow Fight Day was celebrated all-over the world, including Orlando. I had so much at Pillowlando (as it’s known locally) in 2010, that I just had to do it again. This year, the event took place at Lake Highland Park with between 50-75 Pillow Fighters in attendance. Here are some photos and video from the event…

After a brief welcome, the pillow fighters engaged in all-out attacks!

Why Yelp! is Great For Travelers

That my friends, was one delicious sandwich; Grilled cheese with Tomato and Bacon. I enjoyed it street-side with a glass of wine at Big Pink in Miami. And I never would have found it, had it not have been for Yelp.

What is Yelp?

Yelp is an online community that reviews restaurants, shops, attractions and other businesses in your hometown and around the world. Users (like you and I) can log on online, search for a place of interest and learn what others thought about it. It’s a bit like trip advisor, but with a much, broader focus.
