 Donnelly House
Celebrating Groundhog’s Day in Punxsutawney, PA is one of the adventures on my adventure list. But until I can get there, I have “Mount Dora’s 1st Annual Groundhog Day Celebration” to look forward to…
Mount Dora Mike
On Wednesday, February 2nd at 5:00pm, during the first annual Groundhog Day celebration, “Mount Dora Mike” will peek out of his winter digs and emerge for guests and dignitaries on the front lawn of the Donnelly House in downtown Mount Dora Florida.

I thought I’d start the week with one of my favorite columns here at adventureswithben.com, Sign Spotting. Today’s sign was spotted at the Central Florida Zoo.

What I like most about it… most warning signs just tell you not to do something, but never the why. At the Central Florida Zoo, they tell you why. So for that, I thank you. Oh, and I appreciate their concern for my well-being, as well as the animals.
Happy Monday!
I’ll see you out there…!

Hey Adventurers,
I have some very exciting news for you local readers (for everyone else outside of Orlando, you may enjoy reading my adventure eating the Mega Mac, the Big Mac’s bigger sibling).
The City of Orlando is having a Flash Mob to celebrate tourism in 2 weeks!!!
What’s a Flash Mob?
Not sure what a flash mob is, I’ll explain; They are seemingly unplanned acts of fun by tons of people. Here’s one of my favorites from Belgium. As you can imagine, the organizers have been tight-lipped about the details of their flash mob dance, but here’s the latest information that I have. As new details emerge, I’ll keep you posted on my twitter and facebook fan page.

Today’s post is a review about a gay club in Orlando. If that doesn’t interest you, then you can read about Great White Shark Diving in South Africa.
On Saturday night I had the opportunity to visit Mr. Sisters. It’s a new gay club in Orlando. A much-hyped club. Was it worth it? Here’s a report card from it’s opening weekend.
Parking:
Parking will cost you $5.00 for Valet and $10.00 for VIP Valet. Free parking near to the club wasn’t presented as an option. On the plus side, the club charges no cover. However…

This past Sunday 13 Travel Bloggers from Tampa, Orlando and Daytona Beach Regions met at the Orlando Science Center for the Central Florida TBEX Chapter Launch Party. (*And if you’re not a travel blogger you can read about an irreverent magazine article about what Brazil is encouraging their citizens to do in the name conserving water.)
The event started off with a welcome from Jeff Stanford, VP of Communications for the Orlando Science Center and Susan Lomx, VP of Publicity for the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. Both organizations were instrumental in helping us organize the event, including the donation of function space by the Orlando Science Center.

I knew from the moment that I walked into Chilly Spoons that it would become my new favorite place*; fun, unique and a great place to chill (pun intended). Take a look the hours of operation on the door…

Any place that runs on “ish time” is my kind of place. There had to be a story behind the ish so I asked. It’s the ultimate excuse to come to work a few minutes late, or on the other hand… stay open later if it’s busy late at night. That relaxed, casual attitude is just perfect.

I was dining at the Steak ‘n Shake in Lake Buena Vista, FL last Friday and noticed this sign on the way out.
At first glance, I didn’t know what it was. It took me a moment. I can hear the discussion right now…
Officer: “Can you give me a description of the robber?”
Employee: “Well, I’m not so sure. It all happened so fast. He’s as tall as a Chocolate Milk Shake. Will that help?”
Officer: “With the straw bent or unbent?”
Employee: “Unbent”
Officer: “Excellent. Rest assured, we’ll catch ‘em”

October is GLBT History Month. “But wasn’t June Gay Pride Month” you may be asking? Yes, the GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) Community claims two months of the year. One is to reflect on it’s heritage (October) and one is just to celebrate and have fun (June), at least that’s how I see it. The GLBT’s like to party.
