Without a doubt, The Bubble Room ranks as the #1 kitschy restaurant I’ve ever discovered anywhere IN THE WORLD! That’s a pretty strong statement, I know, but after reading today’s post I think you’ll agree with me. You’ll know you’ve arrived when you spot the building that looks like every color of paint was just poured over it. Let the fun begin!
The Bubble Room does not take reservations, so arrive in advance. Even in the low season when I visited, waits were upwards to an hour or so. Arrive for an early dinner (5:00ish and you’ll walk right in). Plus, it’s easy to find parking in the lot.
Rimpa Lapin was one of the restaurants we dined in while in Pattaya, Thailand. It has one of the best views at night. Check it out.

Hey Explorers,
Have you ever been someplace that you want to keep to yourself because you don’t want others to know about it and spoil it?That’s how we feel about Rimpa Lapin. We don’t want you to go there, not because it’s a bad place, but because we want it all to ourselves. However, today’s your lucky day for 2 reasons: 1) we won’t be in Pattaya again until we can save our pennies for a plane ticket, and 2) they’re a sponsor of the Ultimate Thailand Explorers Competition so it we’re kinda obligated to talk about them.
As part of our experience as Ultimate Thailand Explorers, Brian and I indulged on a Sabai Sabai made from Mekhong Whiskey. Take a look.

Hey Explorers,
We have a few more sponsor thank you’s to share with you before we wrap up our blog. After arriving back to Bangkok from Pattaya we celebrated with our sponsors at the Amari Watergate Hotel; Mekhong Whiskey. One of the bartenders from the Amari shared with us how to make a cocktail with Mekhong Whiskey called the “Sabai Sabai”. Who doesn’t love a good cocktail right?
I spotted this one at the Houston Airport during a layover, and I must say, after having Airport Tacos, the men’s room can certainly turn into a severe weather area! And the toilet bowl swirls just like indicated in the photo!
Ewww… too far on this one? Share your opinion by commenting.
I’ll see you out there…!

I’ve eaten at a lot of nice restaurants It happens to be one of the perks of business travel (unless it’s jellyfish). If you’ve ever been on a cruise, you’ve probably had several really nice meals. I think it’s important, at least once in your life, to splurge and order an expensive steak. It’s good to know what a real piece of beef tastes like. But the truth of the matter is, that’s not my style.
Whenever I travel, I love spoiling myself with food. I eat pretty plainly at home. It’s a money-saving technique. But as soon as I travel and discover a quaint, little Main Street… I’m all over those little boutique shops like “flies on stink” (as my dad once said)! Such was the case on a trip to Madison, Wisconsin when I stumbled upon Fromagination.
Fromagination included one of the four major food groups…
Chocolate
Bread & Oil
Wine
Cheese
I could eat cheese forever. My favorite… bleu cheese and smoked gouda. And where better to get cheese in the United States than Wisconsin!
I don’t eat a whole lot of fast food in the United States, but while traveling… I like to sample a few and compare. Case-in-point, the McDonald’s Mega Mac. While traveling through Australia, I came across Hungry Jack’s, an obvious “knock-off” of Burger King.
Or so I thought.
You see, while traveling in South Africa I came across the Pick ‘n Pay clothing store, which looked exactly like Old Navy. So I’ve somewhat grown accustom to other countries trying to circumvent American Trademark Laws.
He baked for the Ritz Carlton and Beverly Hills Hotel Chains.
He now operates his own business making chocolates. Really yummy chocolates. Really, really yummy chocolates. Here are four reasons why you should check out Norman Love Chocolates
1. Beautifully Decorated
Each chocolate is artfully painted in splashes, spirals, dots and dashes. You won’t want to eat them, lest you spoil their enticing designs.
We all lead busy schedules. From jetting off to one destination after another, blogging, working and running marathons (okay, half-marathons), I’m always on the go. In fact, this post, marks the 500th, published story on adventureswithben.com. Wow! So in short, I’m due to relax.
The team at Bahama Breeze invited some of us Orlando Bloggers to spend an evening sampling their new “Small Plates” and “Skinny Cocktails” Menu. Sharing the evening with CentralFloridaTop5, daFoodie, Swimmer Joe and Professor Josh over delicious food (and even more delicious drinks) was just what the doctor ordered.
Curious about the toe? This YouTube Video tells the whole story…
The Sour Toe Cocktail was originated by Captain Dick (you can read the history here). It’s an eerily, curious drink that only the bravest try.

If you’re up for the challenge, visit the Downtown Hotel in Dawson City, Canada. It’s in the Yukon Territory. Stop in the bar and ask what time the “Toe Captain” will be there to drop the toe into your shot. On my most recent trip, it was posted that he was there every day from 7-9 P.M.
