Remember bounce houses, couch forts and tree houses? Those were the days when we had no inhibitions. When we just did whatever we wanted to to do. Now we grow up, become adults and it suddenly becomes “uncool” or “inappropriate” to do those things anymore.
Growing up, I used to watch The Price is Right every morning at 11 A.M. during school break. Watching the show tape with host Bob Barker was on My Adventure List – until he retired. However, I’ve always been fascinated with the Entertainment Industry and love watching how the magic happens. On Sunday I had the opportunity to watch The Ellen Show tape at Universal Orlando. This was my first television taping experience. So I’ve created some tips to help your first taping be successful.
While I’m on the road in Canada here’s more from the Ultimate Thailand Explorers Blog Archive. Today’s post is for Mini Siam (originally published 12/23/2009).

Pattaya is working hard to change it’s appeal from being an adult-oriented destination to one that appeals to families. Mini Siam narrows this gap with a fun afternoon out for the little ones you brought with you on your vacation.
Essentially this sign reads, “we tried our best to make this safe. We’re not responsible if we didn’t do a good enough job”. Gold Reef City is an amusement park in South Africa. I took this photo 2 years ago on a trip and thought that it was funny. I’ll share more from Gold Reef City later. Until then, be safe – at least to the best of your ability!

There are only 17 Days left in the Ultimate Thailand Explorers Contest. With only a few weeks lefts until I travel to South Africa for business, Brian and I are doing everything we can in these final days to prepare for our hopeful trip to Thailand. In last week’s blog entry, you read about us searching for books about Thailand. This week we traveled to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival to search for Thai Food.
There are many ways to travel on an adventure. You could travel with friends, a loved one, on your own and with family. When I was in graduate school I decided to further my education career and apply to doctoral programs across the United States. One of these schools happened to be in California so I took a trip with my dad to visit the campus.
I’ve traveled frequently with both my mom and dad together, but not as often with just one family member. While our trip was mainly business, it was really nice spending quality time – just he and I. We had ourselves a free evening one night and went down to Santa Monica for dinner.
That’s Manta, the newest coaster at SeaWorld Orlando. It also happened to be our first stop Saturday night on an adventure at the aquatic-themed theme park here in Central Florida. Unlike most traditional coasters where riders are in a seated position, Manta rotates riders so that they are lying face down, as if they were flying – or gliding – through the water like a Manta Ray. It was terrifyingly awesome. Through the inversions, twists and descents, there was nothing beneath me to catch me should I fall. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience here in Orlando. Check it out!
Water, dolphins, sun and inner tubes was how I spent Sunday afternoon. Thanks to our neighborhood friends, Brian and I were invited to experience Aquatica by SeaWorld for the first time. It was a terrific day - though future water worshippers should be plan their day carefully to make the most of their visit. Here’s some highlights from the park.
Above everything else, you must arrive early. Ticket Holders are allowed to enter the park at 830 while those who must purchase tickets at the gate must wait until 900. Do the smart thing and buy in advance. You’ll be glad that you did!
