Never Take Traveling For Granted…

CroppedBenUluru 1024x670 Never Take Traveling For Granted...

Yesterday’s post about My Travel ABC’s really had me thinking. It asked me a lot of questions about my favorite travel memories that had me at a loss for words. A loss for words because:

A – I couldn’t decide which of my many adventures was my favorite

and

B – I’ve had so many that I’ve forgotten about many of them. Digging through my archives jogged my memory on things I’ve forgotten about just a few years back!

This was surprising on so many levels, and a reason to reflect…

30 Ways to Celebrate Turning 30

IMG 1685 1024x768 30 Ways to Celebrate Turning 30

November is a special time of year. On the 21st of this month I celebrate my birthday!

Now ordinarily, this is a cause for celebration. But this year, I turn a major milestone: 30. On November 21st this travel blogger and adventurer starts a new chapter in his life. And to be honest, I’m not looking forward to it.

Why I’m Not Looking Forward to Turning 30

To me, turning 30 is the very (very) beginning of the end. Your 20′s are supposed to be fun, carefree, irresponsible and generally the time when you can make mistakes, try again and figure out what direction you want to head towards in life.

Celebrate Halloween! And Every Holiday For That Matter. Here’s Why…

photo 768x1024 Celebrate Halloween! And Every Holiday For That Matter. Heres Why...

Happy Halloween!

The last time I celebrated Halloween was in 2006. Yes, it’s been almost 5 years since I put on a costume, handed out candy and enjoyed the revelry of celebrating our darkest fears. From 2007-2010 I have been out of the country on business: Three years in South Africa and one in Canada.

Travel Tip: Trick-or-Treaters don’t visit hotels. And TSA Agents don’t wear Halloween costumes either (but some people in airports do).

Holiday are important. But like a lot of things that are important, we don’t recognize how special they are until we lose them.

A Mile-By-Mile Recap of the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon: Everything I Discovered

PA011919 A Mile By Mile Recap of the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon: Everything I Discovered

Done.

That’s really all I could say at the end of the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon last week. Running 13.1 miles takes a lot out of you. With just over a week to recouperate, I’m ready to share everything I discovered about running, marathons, myself and more.

A Mile-by-Mile Half Marathon Video

I decided to take a camera with me and film a mile-by-mile editorial of my race progress. You can view by clicking on the YouTube video link below, but be warned… it’s a horrible video. Really bad. It’ dark, shaky, long and features me topless. I’m sure only race fanatics and Disney fans would have the patience to watch the whole thing.

Travel Tip: It’s Okay to Take a Break

Hey Adventurers,

We all lead busy schedules. From jetting off to one destination after another, blogging, working and running marathons (okay, half-marathons), I’m always on the go. In fact, this post, marks the 500th, published story on adventureswithben.com. Wow! So in short, I’m due to relax.

The team at Bahama Breeze invited some of us Orlando Bloggers to spend an evening sampling their new “Small Plates” and “Skinny Cocktails” Menu. Sharing the evening with CentralFloridaTop5, daFoodieSwimmer Joe and Professor Josh over delicious food (and even more delicious drinks) was just what the doctor ordered.

Travel Tip: Spend Lots of Money Before You Go Traveling

P8141063 Travel Tip: Spend Lots of Money Before You Go Traveling

Many travelers tout the importance of living a thrifty lifestyle at home in order to travel like royalty abroad. And I would agree with them. In fact, I’ve written a whole series about how to save money in order to travel more. But sometimes, it’s also great advice to spend a lot of money before you travel, in order to ensure you’re well-prepared for the adventures that await you. Allow me to explain…
