On which island might you find a sign like this on your home? Find out tomorrow. I’ll see you out there…! Visit the adventures with ben online store for travel ebooks It’s nice to be surprised. Such was the case in Baton Rouge last week. I had a few hours of free time after lunch and wandered throughout downtown. Just for the fun of it, my travel partner and I decided to wander into the Capitol Building. We were glad we did. Today’s post features a photo tour of the history we discovered… Our first stop was the Senate Chamber. With the doors wide open we were able to take a peak inside. The Sargent at Arms even showed us an explosive piece of history, literally. I’m arriving home today to the United States of America after 48 days in South Africa. It’s always sad to leave South Africa, but there’s truly no place like home. 48 days is a long time to be away. I’ve given up a lot to complete this special project and I want to first thank my partner Brian for supporting me and my world travels. While I’m globe trotting he’s taking care of our dog Scampy, our fish Nemo and everything else to keep the house in tip-top shape. So I’m very much looking forward to returning to him. In addition, there are a lot of other things I’ve missed that I’m looking forward to. In no particular order…
Growing up, I used to watch The Price is Right every morning at 11 A.M. during school break. Watching the show tape with host Bob Barker was on My Adventure List – until he retired. However, I’ve always been fascinated with the Entertainment Industry and love watching how the magic happens. On Sunday I had the opportunity to watch The Ellen Show tape at Universal Orlando. This was my first television taping experience. So I’ve created some tips to help your first taping be successful. 1. Get Your Tickets
Non-stop flights are the best. But sometimes one has to make a layover in order to get to their final destination. Last week I found myself at Denver International Airport, DEN. With the few spare minutes I had, I made a video of some of the things I discovered at the airport. You’ll notice I’m sporting my new Cowboy Hat. I’ll tell you more about that in a future post.
Until then, enjoy this brief video from the Denver Airport. I’ll see you out there…
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever seen at an airport? Leave your comment below. Sa wat dee krap Explorers, Brian and I recently went to a local Thai restaurant here in Orlando, Sea Thai to celebrate our entry into the Ultimate Thailand Explorers Competition. Brian has had Thai food before, but this was my first Thai, culinary experience – and while I didn’t know what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised. Sea Thai is about a 10 minute drive from our house. From the shopping plaza outside you wouldn’t be able to tell what a gem it is inside. By the time you read this post I’ll be on my way to South Africa. I’m traveling there for business and will return to The States on November 9th. While I’m away I’ll still continue to post, but I’m not sure how frequent they will be. I’ll do my best to continue my 6 posts per week, but I’ve already heard that internet is spotty. Rest assured that when I have the time to post, I’ll be updating you on all-Africa material! And when I return, you can count on a full summary of my adventures in South Africa. Until then… I found this sign posted on the side of Bob’s Store in Seekonk, MA and it made me laugh.
I was just going to solicit for that too! ********** Don’t forget, Ben and Brian are applicants in the Ultimate Thailand Explorers Contest. Please follow us on twitter@benandbrianthaiand share our Ultimate Thailand Explorers Application Video to Pattaya, Thailand with your friends and family.

Growing up, we made a lot of family vacations to New Hampshire. In fact as I’ve been writing these last few posts I’ve opened an itch I need to scratch by going back. We used to ski in New Hampshire in the winter, camp in the summer and in this recent trip, leaf peep in the fall. New Hampshire is a great place to visit. Yet on every vacation we took to New Hampshire there was one thing I wanted to do that never happened – ride the Mt. Washington Cog Railway.
I grew up in Massachusetts. I went to school in the middle of the mountains in Central, Massachusetts. At this time of year, the foliage was gorgeous. Did I notice? Absolutely not. That’s why the first Autumn I had the chance, I flew back home to go leaf peeping and, for the first time, appreciate the natural beauty of mother earth. Leaf peeping is the term used for people who travel to watch the Autumn Leaves change color. A successful trip requires the following:
