Thailand is known for it’s many floating markets. We had a great time at the one in Pattaya, experiencing a lot of firsts:
dining on the ground
eating bugs
getting a fish massage
feeding goats
Enjoy an adventure in trying new things!

Before you read today’s post. Have you added your caption to our photo from the Sriracha Tiger Zoo? It’s not too late. Click here first, then return back to read all about the floating market. There are some fun captions already there. We’d love to read yours!
Pattaya is well known for it’s beaches. I love the beach. So taking the ferry out to Koh Larn was a perfect getaway. Today’s post answers the questions: “How to get to Koh Larn?” and “What is there to do on Koh Larn?”
Unfortunately, beach weather is long gone in Central Florida. I’ll have to travel further south – or relive the experience here to get my fix of sand and surf.
I was inspired by a recent post on GloboTreks, River Cruising: a Different Adventurous Journey. A river cruise is a fantastic way to see a city from a new perspective. And while I was in Phalaborwa, South Africa, I discovered that they are also an excellent and different way to spot game.
Yesterday’s sign was spotted along the Olifants River in Limpopo Province. There are real, wild animals along this river. Africa ain’t for sissies. Any safari, whether it be by land or see has an element of danger. For example, did you know, hippos are the most dangerous animal to humans (yes more dangerous than the big cats)? Yep. People assume they are docile, but get in their way, and they become vicious and deadly!
Flying in a hot air balloon has been on my adventure list for a long time. While in Pattaya, Thailand as part of the Ultimate Thailand Explorers Competition, I had the opportunity to fly in one for the first time. It was a dream come true and it was spectacular. Opportunities exist all over the world. And though they are often pricey, they are worth it – at least once.
Thinking about traveling to Pattaya, Thailand? It may not be exactly what you think. Learn more about this resort city just a few hour’s drive out of Bangkok before you go.
Have a great weekend!

Hey Explorers,
Let’s start this post off with an overview of Pattaya City.
Since I’ve started this blog, my habits have changed while I travel. While I used to be able to pack light, now I pack heavy. While I use to be able to simply enjoy the destinations I visit, now I think about how should I photograph, video and write about them to share it with you.
It’s a different experience. A bit more work, but still fun. In today’s post I share all the equipment I brought with me to Thailand as part of the Ultimate Thailand Explorers Competition. Perhaps you may be surprised to see what it takes to bring the stories of each destination to life.
If you’re new to the site, today’s YouTube video from Pattaya, Thailand is a recap of everything Brian and I did as part of the Ultimate Thailand Explorers Competition. It will catch you up quick.
New posts will be coming next week. I have family in town and I’m working on some site enhancements. Thanks for reading and I’ll be back.
Riding on long flights, even when you’re stretched in the business class seats can still be uncomfortable. Those reclining seats aren’t designed for sleeping…well they are, but they aren’t as comfortable as a bed.
Whenever I arrive at an airport, I make it a point to walk from one terminal to another – instead of taking the tram. Arriving in Detroit on one trip, I was in for a bit of a surprise. The walk was inhumanely long. Okay, it wasn’t that long, but when you have to drag luggage and make it there on-time, it might have been wiser to have taken the tram.
Yesterday’s post posed the question, “What Happens if You Don’t Heed the Warning of this Hotel Room Sign?”
Today you get to see the answer. Take a look in this YouTube Video.
Despite the fact that The Palace of the Lost City Hotel at the Sun City Resort in South Africa is a posh, 5-star hotel, baboons still found a way to trash the room. Because they do it so often, they know which cabinet to find the food AND with their discriminating chocolate palette, know how to open a Toblerone package.
