The Story Behind the depixtions iphoneography Photo
Ever since I got my new iphone 4s I’ve been addicted to iphoneography – the art of taking photographs with your iphone. I’ve downloaded over over 50 apps that create some way cool effects (let me know what your favorites are; I’d love to download some more).
Earlier last month, just for fun, I submitted one of my photos into a gallery show here in Orlando. I am delighted to share that my submission was accepted! Presented by depixtions, the gallery event will take place on Saturday, March 10th from 7 P.M. until 11 P.M. at the Orange Studio. If you’re in Orlando and can make it, let me know. I’d love to meet you!
The photo that will be on display is an edited version of the photo above. I took it on an airplane in January when it was making it’s approach into Orlando. With the base image, I used the app Pro Hdr, to transform it into the photo below.
I especially love the contrasting colors and look of the clouds. But to me, the real magic is the apparent tranquility and beauty of flying. Flying today is really a hassle. But despite the stressors of security, fees and cramped seats, there is something truly magical about lifting off above the clouds and venturing to destinations unknown.
This is the first time a photo of mine will be printed and on display in an art/ photography show. I’ve even more looking forward to meeting other camera phone enthusiasts.
