About Ben

Ben Reed, President and Chief Adventurer of adventures with ben LLC, is an Orlando-based Travel Blogger that will try (almost) anything once. With over 500 articles written, his travel blog adventureswithben.com, encourages readers to do the same as they learn how to plan, explore and enjoy some of the world’s top destinations. Ben has been interviewed on FoxNews.com sharing his thoughts on The Seven Most Bucket List-Worthy Destinations for 2011 and Tips for Crossing Borders, been featured on the VISIT Florida Blog - Florida’s official tourism marketing arm and BBC News, was an invited member of the NASA STS-135 Tweetup and was interviewed as an Orlando Expert for the Fare Compare.com Travel Podcast. In September of 2011, Ben was a featured speaker at the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) Travel Blogger Show in Las Vegas, NV.

Locally in Orlando, Ben launched a Florida Travel & Tourism Podcast, Florida Travel Cocktail and writes a monthly travel column for The Conway News, an Orlando-area paper with a circulation of 20,000. He’s also written for the Gecko’s Grassroots Adventures Blog – an Australian Destination-Based Tour Operator. In 2009, Ben was selected by the Tourism Authority Of Thailand to blog from Pattaya, Thailand as part of their social media travel competition, Ultimate Thailand Explorers.

Having accumulated over 320,000 miles traveling to 16 countries on 6 continents, Ben has walked with lions, dived with Great White Sharks, dined on insects and jellyfish, climbed the Sydney Harbor Bridge, bungee jumped in front of Victoria Falls and stomped grapes in his hometown of Orlando, FL. His writing encourages others to seek out an adventure-filled life in their backyard and beyond.

In addition to writing, Ben also manages an online, travel store with downloadable travel ebooks and other travel accessories. He is also a regular speaker at conferences for travel bloggers and general travelers. His keynote speech, “9 1/2 Ways to Ignite Adventure in Your Life”, is 60-minutes chock full of travel stories, tips and motivation to help audience members travel more and have more fun when they travel.

Active in the larger, travel blogging community, Ben is a founding member of the Central Florida Chapter of Travel Blog Exchange.com.
