It started with an idea. I’ve been blogging for almost three months now, longer than I ever have in past attempts. I am impressed with my ability to stick with it. Now that I’ve found something I am passionate about, it’s always on my mind. I’m always thinking, “what else can I do next? How do I…?” I’m trying to increase readership and one afternoon it hit me.
I was on twitter and came across @goodtugo. It’s author, Karen Porte, created a travel accessory called the tugo cup holder. I contacted Karen to see if she could print my website on one. With all the traveling I’ll be doing this month, I thought it would be a great marketing tool. It turns out that she needs a minimum order of 200 to print my site on them. Yikes! I don’t have that kind of cash yet (so why don’t you donate to the site by clicking the donate button on the left?). Instead, I asked Karen if she would be willing to give me a cup holder in return for some word-of-mouth from yours truly. She agreed.
Wow! Less than 90 days into blogging and I have my first sponsor (sorta)! On Wednesday I met with Megan from her social media team at Starbucks in Eugene, Oregon. We chatted for about 30 minutes. She was great. I hope to have a full post and review next week after I test it out on a few trips. If you haven’t heard of the tugo cup holder, Megan showed me how to use it. Take a look.
Megan gave me two tugo cup holders. I’ll be using one of them. The second cup holder will be given to one of you! Karen shared that contests are a great way to promote her product. So I’m having one. For more details about the contest click here. One lucky reader will receive a tugo cup holder. How cool is that?
Good Luck and thank you to Karen, Megan and everyone else at tugo!

Good morning Ben..Great ideas you have and I do hope that you are successful in all your endeavors…Nice pictures too. what a million dollar smile you have. I enjoy meeting up with you every morning on the computer….Love Gram
Thank you for reading Gram. You can thank mom and dad for paying for that smile (well the braces anyway).
Ben, have @goodtugo checkout livemercial.com or @livemercial.
It is an internet “pitch” site. You pitch, they promote, you profit. It is like “infomercials” but on the web. It might be a fast way to promote her product. Looks very sellable.
Thanks Donna. I’ll have them take a look. Thank you for passing on the link and for reading! Why not enter the Tugo Contest?
