I’ve flown a lot of airlines. Korean Air, China Airlines, Iceland Air, TAM, Delta, Alaska Airlines, United and Southwest are just a few of the carriers I’ve travelled with in the past few years. No matter who you fly, the predictable element of each flight is the in-flight safety video. On International Carriers the spiel is delivered in English and the native tongue of the carrier. Southwest is known for their humorous approach to delivering the standard spiel. One of my favorite moments in the Delta video is the female flight attendant who says, “Smoking is not allowed on any Delta Flight.” For some reason her delivery is captivating each and every time.
However, I’ve yet to fly Air New Zealand. After seeing this in-flight video I think I should schedule a trip soon!
How many times do airlines have to deliver the safety spiel over the course of a day? I’m guessing it’s probably in the thousands. No matter which airline you fly it’s always delivered the same way. Kudos to Air New Zealand for making this message truly interesting and unique.
